The statement urged members of the university community across its three campuses to stay vigilant and calm, reassuring them that safety measures are in place to protect lives and property.

University members were advised to continue their regular activities, with new exam dates to be announced soon.

The statement read: “Given the planned protest on Thursday, August 1, 2024, all members of the University Community are advised to remain calm, safe, and aware of their surroundings. Precautionary measures have been implemented to ensure safety across all campuses during the ongoing 2nd Semester, 2023/2024 exams.

“All exams scheduled for August 1 and 2, 2024, are postponed until further notice. New dates for these exams will be provided in due course.

“The university emphasizes that security is everyone’s responsibility. Members of the university community should report any suspicious activities to the Security Unit at securityunit@unilag.edu.ng and cso@unilag.edu.ng.
