Lagos Government Addresses Viral Video Of Sanwo-Olu In Tense Confrontation With WomanThe Senior Special Assistant to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on New Media, Jubril Gawat, has provided clarity on the viral video showing his principal in a heated exchange with a young woman. According to Gawat, the incident took place on January 28, 2019, during a public event hosted by Niteshift Coliseum in Opebi, Lagos.
In a post shared on his X (formerly Twitter) account, Gawat explained that the confrontation occurred while Sanwo-Olu, who was then a governorship candidate, was engaging with attendees during a question-and-answer session. He stated that the young woman, who stood up to ask a question like many others, began raising her voice and behaving disrespectfully.
Gawat emphasized that there were no security agents, such as DSS or police officers, present to intervene in the interaction. He also pointed out that the event, which was organized by Niteshift Coliseum, continued smoothly after the incident.
He concluded by urging people to be cautious of spreading misinformation, writing, “#SayNoToFakeNews.
