He made the statement on Wednesday during the commissioning of several projects, including roads, classroom blocks, and street lighting, executed by the Deputy Chief Whip of the Senate and Senator representing Ebonyi North, Peter Onyekachi Nwebonyi.

Governor Nwifuru, who was represented by the state APC chairman, Stanley Okoro Emegha, stated that only aspirants with clear and verifiable achievements in their current or previous roles would be supported to secure the party’s ticket in 2027.

He emphasised that the party has entered a period of evaluation, where only candidates with tangible results will be considered for future elections.

According to him, “The time for assessment has come, and only those with visible achievements will be given the opportunity to fly our party’s ticket in the next general elections. Those who have nothing to show for their years in office will have only themselves to blame, as the party will not repeat its past mistakes in 2027.”

In his remarks, Senator Nwebonyi explained that his decision to initiate the projects was driven by a desire to support and complement the governor’s developmental efforts in the senatorial district.

He noted that the projects were part of his contribution beyond his legislative responsibilities of lawmaking and oversight.
