The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Ekiti State, Wole Oluyede, has said former Governor Ayodele Fayose made a wrong political decision by endorsing Governor Biodun Oyebanji.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Oluyede made the remark during an interactive session with journalists in Ado-Ekiti, where he also dismissed suggestions that Fayose still possesses the political influence to determine the outcome of the upcoming governorship election.

While acknowledging Fayose’s right to support any candidate of his choice, the PDP candidate insisted that the former governor’s endorsement amounted to a misjudgment.

He argued that political support should be based on measurable performance, adding that the current administration has not met expectations in key sectors such as security and infrastructure.

“I respect Fayose and his right to support whoever he wants. We have no personal issues. But if you ask me, he has made the wrong choice in supporting this government,” Oluyede said.

He expressed surprise that Fayose would back the administration despite what he described as clear shortcomings in governance.

“I am disappointed because it suggests that the standard for endorsing a government has become very low. Looking at the realities on the ground, especially in security and public service delivery, there is little justification for such an endorsement,” he added.

Oluyede, however, ruled out any personal confrontation with the former governor, stressing that Fayose is entitled to his political views just as others are.

He maintained that the outcome of the governorship election would be determined by voters in Ekiti State, not by endorsements from political figures.

“The people will decide. This election will not be won by endorsements or political declarations. Ekiti people are intelligent and will assess the performance of those seeking their mandate,” he said.

He also raised concerns about the security situation in the state, alleging that rising criminal activity has left many residents living in fear.
