The 19-year-old emphasized the need for the team to strengthen their defense to enhance their chances of climbing the league table.
Currently occupying the 16th position in the NPFL standings, the Ikon Allah Boys are gearing up to face Katsina United as the second round of matches kicks off on February 14.
“It’s been a challenging start for us. We acknowledge that we haven’t met our expectations, but we are determined to change our fortunes in the latter part of the season,” he conveyed to Lodgexpress.
“Firstly, we must shore up our defense. We conceded more goals than we scored in the initial phase of the season, and we understand that we cannot afford to continue this trend if we aim to remain competitive in the league.
“Secondly, we need to improve our efficiency in front of goal. Despite creating numerous opportunities, we have struggled to convert them into goals consistently.
“At present, we are trailing our upcoming opponents, Katsina United, by six points, making this upcoming fixture crucial for us.
