According to Daso, the abduction occurred on June 21, 2024, around 9am along Biu-Maiduguri Road, specifically at Jiba town. The police have initiated an investigation to locate the perpetrators and ensure the safe release of the abducted individuals.

“We received a report from Sani Audu through the Divisional Officer of Biu regarding the kidnapping of the judge, his wife, orderly, and driver,” Daso stated. “Although there has been no contact with the kidnappers yet, we have implemented comprehensive security measures to facilitate the rescue operation.”

Daso also mentioned that the Borno State Police Commissioner has assigned a Special Investigation team comprising the State Intelligence Department, tactical squads, and collaboration with other security agencies including the DSS. Their objective is to gather forensic evidence to aid in tracking and retrieving the victims.
