Ganduje shared his thoughts during a press conference held at his office in Abuja, where he was accompanied by Simon Lalong, the immediate past governor of Plateau State and a minister.

He described Wike’s visit as a positive step towards enhancing the APC’s membership drive under his leadership. This aligns with his commitment, as expressed in his inaugural acceptance speech on August 3rd, to expand the party’s membership base.

Responding to inquiries about whether Wike’s visit implied a potential shift to the APC, Ganduje clarified that the topic of Wike’s defection was not discussed during the meeting at his residence. He emphasized that any such discussions would be addressed at a later point.

While Ganduje did not delve into details, he acknowledged that the inclusion of prominent figures like Wike within the APC would strengthen the party’s electoral prospects in 2027. He articulated, “The entry of individuals like Wike into the APC fold would undoubtedly enhance our party’s chances in the 2027 elections.
