The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State has issued a strong warning to the Minister of State for Housing, Yusuf Atta, over what the party described as inappropriate conduct and inflammatory public statements capable of causing internal tension.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
In a letter dated November 21 and signed by the state chairman, Abdullahi Abbas, the party expressed deep concern about Atta’s recent remarks, cautioning that such behaviour could undermine unity within the APC. The leadership stressed that if the minister fails to desist from making unauthorized comments on party affairs, he could face disciplinary measures, including possible expulsion.
Party officials noted that Atta is not mandated to speak on behalf of the APC, and any public statements he makes may be wrongly viewed as the party’s official position. They reminded him that issues relating to party operations are the responsibility of the leadership and its designated spokespersons.
While acknowledging his right to support any political aspirant, the party emphasized that his role as a federal minister requires him to promote harmony and avoid actions that could fuel division. According to internal communications seen by BushRadio, the party accused Atta of repeatedly making derogatory and uncomplimentary comments in public, warning that further violations would attract additional sanctions.
Copies of the warning letter were forwarded to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, former Kano governor and party leader Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, as well as the APC North-West Zonal Vice Chairman.
