Behind The Scenes Of Terror: Katsina Police Capture Alleged Financiers

This development was announced in a statement issued on Tuesday by the Command’s spokesperson, Assistant Superintendent of Police Abubakar Sadiq.
According to Sadiq, the 25-year-old suspect hails from Dundubus village in Daja Local Government Area, Katsina State. He noted that the arrest is a major breakthrough in the Command’s ongoing efforts to tackle terrorism, kidnapping, and banditry in the region.
Hassan was apprehended during a routine patrol along the Yan-Tumaki to Kankara highway on November 19th within the Danmusa LGA. At the time of his arrest, he was found in possession of two pairs of military uniforms, which were concealed in a black polythene bag.
Further investigations led to the arrest of three additional suspects connected to the case:
- Lawal M. Ahmad, 29,
- Isma’il Dalhatu, 24, both residents of Basawa Quarters in Sabon Gari, Zaria LGA, Kaduna State, and
- Shafi’u Adamu, 28, from Danjaba village in Soba LGA, Kaduna State.
The police also recovered 14 pairs of military uniforms and one police uniform from the suspects. These items were allegedly intended for armed bandits to facilitate their criminal operations.
Sadiq revealed that the suspects confessed to their crimes during interrogation and are set to be charged in court once investigations are complete. He added that the State Commissioner of Police, Aliyu Abubakar Musa, urged the public to provide reliable information to aid the fight against armed banditry.
The spokesperson commended the operatives for their dedication and professionalism, which led to the successful arrests.
In a related case, the Command arrested seven individuals accused of rape on November 25th following a report at the Kaita Divisional Police Headquarters. The suspects allegedly lured four minors, aged 13 to 14, to the residence of one of the accused, where they engaged in unlawful sexual activities.
The suspects—Salisu Ibrahim, Sabiu Abdulkarim, Nuhu Halliru, Rabe Malam, Hamza Abdullahi, Iliyasu Ibrahim, and Idris Abdullahi—are all residents of Kaita Local Government Area.
“Upon receiving the report, detectives carried out an investigation and successfully apprehended the suspects. During interrogation, they confessed to the crime and will face charges in court upon the conclusion of investigations,” the statement concluded.
