Board Members Clash Over Dismissal Of Eko Disco CEO....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

A disagreement has erupted among members of the board of the Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC) following the termination of the company’s Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Tinuade Sanda. The decision to replace Sanda with Mrs. Rekhiat Momoh, effective Tuesday, has stirred controversy within the organization.

The removal of Sanda was communicated via a letter signed by EKEDC Chairman, Dere Otubu, on March 25. Otubu cited a directive from the Nigeria Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) as the basis for the decision, stating that all staff must be employed directly by the utility and paid through its payroll.

However, Director and Chairman of the Legal & Regulatory Committee, Mr. Babor Egeregor, disputed Otubu’s claims, asserting that NERC’s directive did not mandate the removal of staff unless connected to alleged fraud and negligence.

Egeregore accused Otubu of acting in bad faith and seeking revenge against Sanda for exposing alleged fraud within the company. He criticized the appointment of Momoh as Acting CEO, stating that the board had not approved her appointment.

The disagreement underscores deep divisions within EKEDC’s leadership, raising questions about corporate governance and decision-making processes within the organization.
