The final will be held at the Puskás Aréna in Budapest, Hungary, marking Siebert’s first UEFA club competition final assignment after more than a decade on the international refereeing stage.
The 42-year-old referee has been a regular presence in this season’s Champions League, officiating nine matches. His appointments included Arsenal’s quarter-final against Sporting CP, their semi-final clash with Atlético Madrid, as well as PSG’s quarter-final tie against Liverpool.
Siebert’s selection reflects his steady progression within UEFA’s refereeing structure since becoming a FIFA-listed official in 2015. He also brings experience from major tournaments, including UEFA Euro 2020 and UEFA Euro 2024.
He will be assisted by fellow German officials Jan Seidel and Rafael Foltyn, while Bastian Dankert will lead the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) team, completing an all-German officiating crew.
UEFA’s appointment places a significant responsibility on Siebert, with expectations of a high-intensity final as PSG and Arsenal compete for European glory.
The decision also aligns with UEFA’s practice of assigning referees who have demonstrated consistency and experience in high-pressure matches throughout the competition.
