In a statement released on Thursday, the Conference Chairman, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, dismissed the claim—first published by an online platform on July 30, 2025—as “completely false, malicious, and deliberately intended to mislead the public.”

Ogundoyin clarified that no suspension took place and no press conference was held in Ibadan or any other location to announce such an action.

He further stressed that Rt. Hon. Egbedun remains “a valued and active member of the Conference, who has not been found guilty of any wrongdoing.”

The Conference criticised the online platform responsible for the publication, labelling the report as “baseless and devoid of journalistic integrity.”

Ogundoyin called on media outlets to uphold accuracy and verify facts before publishing, noting that false reporting can severely harm reputations and mislead the public.
