Speaking during an interactive session with the League of Yoruba Media Practitioners (LYMP) in Lagos, Salvador, who was a member of the 2014 National Conference, urged all stakeholders in the region to put aside their political affiliations and unite in supporting Tinubu for the progress of both the region and the nation.
Having retired from partisan politics, Salvador emphasized that his primary concern now is the advancement of the South-West and Nigeria as a whole.
He further argued that Tinubu’s rise to presidency from the South-West differs significantly from the emergence of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, who Salvador believes was imposed upon the nation and the South-West by powerful individuals and the northern region.
Salvador highlighted the current opportunity as the South West’s best chance in the Nigerian project since independence, urging the Yoruba community to rally around their own and provide Tinubu with the necessary support.
Regardless of party affiliations, Salvador emphasized the significance of having a Yoruba leader in power, as he believes Tinubu possesses the capability to address the longstanding aspirations of the region.
