In a ruling dated April 10, 2025, presiding Judge Jumbo Stephens instructed that none of the parties involved in the case or their associates should make public statements about the matter until the court reaches a decision. The case has been adjourned until June 4, 2025, for mention and further proceedings.

Ehie is seeking ₦2 billion in general damages, arguing that the defamatory statements have severely harmed his reputation, character, and public standing. He claims the broadcast has caused public scandal, humiliation, and a loss of integrity.

Ehie’s legal team has requested a perpetual injunction to prevent future defamatory statements, a retraction of the broadcast, and a public apology to be issued by Channels TV through nationwide media outlets.
