This accord was organized and overseen by the Justice, Development, Peace, and Caritas Commission, the Catholic Archdiocese of Owerri, the National Voter’s Drive Coalition, and the Imo Advocacy Group.
The candidates from different political parties made a solemn commitment to guarantee a credible and harmonious election process, free from any form of violence in Imo State on the forthcoming November 11, 2023, gubernatorial election.
Notable candidates who attended the event and signed the Peace Accord included Athan Achonu from the Labour Party (LP), Senator Samuel Anyanwu from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The signing of the Peace Accord, which occurred at the Assumpta Cathedral in Owerri, the capital of Imo State, aimed to provide a platform for all gubernatorial candidates to share their manifestos, hopes, and aspirations with the Imo electorate, who are eager to hear from the candidates.
