The House of Representatives Committee on Public Accounts has issued summons to 113 federal agencies, institutions, and private companies to address various accountability concerns. In a notice signed by Committee Chairman Bamidele Salam and released on Thursday, the committee emphasized that these invitations align with sections 85, 88, and 89 of the Nigerian Constitution, as well as Order XX-Rule 6 of the House of Representatives Standing Orders (Eleventh Edition). Chairman Salam stated, “This summons is part of our commitment to ensuring transparency and accountability in public fund management. We aim to address any lapses and ensure compliance with financial regulations.”

The hearings will scrutinize financial activities of the summoned entities to identify irregularities and enforce compliance. The notice instructs the entities to provide relevant documents and appear before the Public Accounts Committee in Meeting Room 446, Fourth Floor, House of Representatives New Building, at 10:00 a.m. on the specified dates.
