have declared their intention to appeal a tribunal ruling that upheld Governor Ahmadu Fintiri’s victory under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Both the APC and Binani have separately expressed their determination to continue their legal pursuit in higher judicial forums, insisting that the tribunal’s decision is not the final verdict.
The Adamawa State governorship election petitions tribunal confirmed Governor Fintiri as the duly elected governor, citing Binani’s failure to substantiate her case against Fintiri.
The tribunal also stated that the suspended resident electoral commissioner, Hudu Ari-Yunusa, was wrong to have declared Binani the winner during the result announcement.
In response to the tribunal’s ruling, the APC State Chairman, Idris Shuaibu, expressed shock but emphasized their resolve to pursue other legal avenues.
He stated, “We have hope, as we have two more avenues after the tribunal to express our grievances and for the tribunal judgment to be upturned.
Shuaibu explained that the party would collaborate with the national leadership to request the certified records of the judgment and proceed to the Court of Appeal, as they believe that “This judgment is not the true reflection of Adamawa voters’ mandate.
