Presidential candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, expressed deep sadness over the Sunday night bombing incident in Tudun Biri, Kaduna State. The incident, which occurred during the Maulud Nabiy celebration, resulted in the death of 80 villagers due to what was described as a “mistaken” airstrike by the Nigerian Army.
Kwankwaso took to his official Twitter handle on Tuesday to convey his sorrow and concern about the tragic event. He characterized the drone airstrike as another distressing episode involving security agencies, emphasizing the unintended harm caused to the very people they are meant to protect. He called on relevant authorities to ensure justice is served and to take sincere measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
In addition, Kwankwaso urged the government to provide adequate compensation to the families of the victims, acknowledging the immense trauma endured by the bereaved inhabitants of Tudun Biri. This statement reflects the need for accountability, justice, and compensation in the aftermath of the unfortunate incident.
