Reports indicate that over 1,000 Islamic clerics gathered to offer prayers, seeking peace, progress, and political stability for Nigeria. The event, hosted by Rep. Abdulmumin Kofa (NNPP-Kiru/Bebeji) in Kiru, featured the recitation of the Holy Qur’an 1,101 times.
In his address, Kofa acknowledged his well-known ties with Tinubu while reaffirming Kwankwaso as his mentor. He vowed to continue fostering unity between both leaders. This was disclosed in a statement released by his media aide, Malam Sani Paki, on Monday in Kano.
Kofa also expressed confidence in the NNPP’s future, emphasizing its openness to alliances or mergers with APC, PDP, LP, or any other party willing to serve the interests of Nigerians.
Additionally, he pledged to use his political influence to engage key figures in Kano’s political landscape to ease tensions surrounding the governorship seat.
Following the prayers, Kofa hosted 5,000 primary school pupils from his constituency, providing them with essential school kits, a gesture he regularly extends. He assured them of the government’s commitment to free education and school feeding programs.
