“This is the second incident of vandalism within a year, which reflects poorly on our state, especially Kogi East,” Fanwo lamented. “We cannot allow a few individuals to undermine the vital services provided by our broadcasting station.”
Fanwo highlighted initial findings suggesting sabotage, urging security agencies to intensify efforts in apprehending the perpetrators. He also called upon local leaders, including the Dekina Traditional Council, to enhance community security and protect public assets.
Addressing concerns about the station’s future, Fanwo reassured the public that Governor Ahmed Ododo is committed to restoring broadcasting services promptly. He commended local officials for their proactive security measures and cooperation in maintaining governance standards.
John Ikani, Chairman of the Dekina Local Government Transition Committee, echoed these sentiments, reporting progress in apprehending suspects involved in the vandalism. He affirmed the administration’s dedication to improving local security to prevent similar incidents.
The meeting, attended by key stakeholders including security heads and royal fathers, concluded with an onsite assessment of the damaged facilities, underscoring the community’s resolve to safeguard public resources.
