Speaking during the grand opening of Bojah World in Lagos, Omirin criticized the eight-year presidency of Muhammadu Buhari, deeming it unproductive for Nigeria. He described the Buhari administration’s tenure as a “waste,” asserting that even a figure like Jesus Christ would struggle to address the resulting issues in the country.
Omirin highlighted the current financial difficulties, noting that the 2024 budget has yet to be implemented and that preparations for the 2025 budget are already underway. As a member of the House of Representatives’ Finance Committee, he is well-versed in the ongoing economic challenges.
Regarding President Tinubu’s recent engagement with protesting youths, Omirin expressed belief in the President’s good intentions but acknowledged that the pressures of the role might be overwhelming. He urged Nigerians to support the President and provide necessary legislative backing.
Omirin, a member of the PDP, stressed that the issues at hand go beyond party politics and are of national concern. He urged Nigerians to remain patient and give the current administration a fair chance. He reiterated that electoral protests should be conducted through voting and not through unrest, advocating for a constructive approach and allowing the President to complete his term before passing final judgment.
