A Nigerian woman has taken to social media to share a distressing story about how a couple she once helped financially allegedly teamed up with her friend—who is related to them—to deny ever receiving the loan and even accused her of having romantic feelings for the husband.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

In a Facebook post, Amaka Lucy recounted that in 2014, she lent a man named Gerald money to help him pay his house rent and move out of his sister’s home due to conflicts with his in-laws. Gerald’s sister, who was both her neighbor and friend, had pleaded for the help, assuring Lucy that the money would be repaid within two weeks because Gerald had goods to sell.

Lucy explained that the loan came from her savings, which she had been setting aside to move to Lagos and contribute to rent with a friend. She withdrew the full amount in cash from her bank account and personally handed it over to Gerald. Both his sister and wife initially expressed gratitude for her generosity.

However, weeks passed without repayment. After three months, Lucy said that Gerald, his wife, and his sister all denied ever receiving the money and demanded proof, which she couldn’t provide since it was a cash transaction. Matters worsened when Gerald’s wife publicly accused Lucy of having an interest in her husband, humiliating her at the plaza where she worked.

The ordeal left Lucy so upset that she quit her job and relocated to Lagos, harboring resentment toward the couple for years. She claimed she cursed them repeatedly until Gerald eventually blocked her number.

She wrote:

“A man and his family have been calling me nonstop that I might have to turn off my phone. Why? Because he wants to apologize for some reason. What happened?

Back in 2014, I loaned Gerald money to pay his house rent and move out of his sister’s house because he was having issues with his in-laws. His sister was my neighbor and friend. That money was my savings. She begged me to help her brother and they promised to pay me back in two weeks since Gerald had goods to sell (he sells men’s wear).

That money was my salary from my sales job, and I was saving to join Happiness Chisom Choice in Lagos and pay my part of the rent. I went with him to Diamond Bank MCC Owerri, emptied my account, and gave him the cash. When we returned, his sister thanked me, and his wife was grateful. They moved to their new house. Two weeks later, they said the money wasn’t available. A month later, still no payment.

Three months later, they conspired and denied I gave him the money. They said I should provide evidence, but I couldn’t because I withdrew the cash and handed it to him personally. I cried so much and begged for even half so I could travel to Lagos.

The wife then accused me of having eyes for her husband. She humiliated me in front of the whole plaza and said all sorts of mean things. I was so broken I had to leave the job, dropping my boss’s shop keys with a friend. I was embarrassed because people started seeing me as a woman who was after Gerald.

His sister stopped talking to me. I was hurt and fled to Lagos. I kept cursing him until he blocked my number.

Yesterday, my phone vibrated; it was his foolish wife, who had the nerve to say someone was sick and wanted to speak with me. At first, I didn’t understand until she mentioned his name. Eewww! Blocked. Deleted.”
