“We are not criminals or thieves,” Kyari stated. “We will uphold our dignity to better serve this country.”
The investigation has been further complicated by allegations from Dangote refinery regarding government officials owning a blending plant in Malta. A blending plant, which lacks refining capabilities, can be used to mix re-refined oil with additives to produce lubricants.
In response to these allegations, Kyari clarified via a post on X that he does not own or operate any business abroad except for a local agricultural venture. He also stated he is unaware of any NNPC employee involved with a blending plant in Malta. Kyari stressed that such a plant has no impact on NNPC’s operations and vowed that any employee found to be involved in such activities would face strict compliance measures, urging that such individuals be publicly identified and reported to the relevant security agencies.
