My Fate Lies In Dirty Politics’: Nnamdi Kanu Raises Alarm Over Legal System Manipulation
The detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has voiced concerns about the likelihood of receiving an unfavorable judgment from any court in Abuja.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
This was revealed by his lead counsel, Aloy Ejimakor, in a social media post following a visit to Kanu at the Department of State Services (DSS) headquarters in Abuja, where he has been held since his extraordinary rendition from Kenya in June 2021.
According to Ejimakor, Kanu expressed deep frustration over how his cases have been handled, citing a blatant disregard for due process and the rule of law. He claimed that decisions are influenced by individuals benefitting from the insecurity in the Southeast rather than by justice.
Ejimakor wrote, “He asked us to inform the public that he does not expect any favorable judgment from any Abuja courts because his cases are decided not by the rules of law but by the rules of politics – dirty and deadly politics.
“The laws applied to him do not align with Nigeria’s written laws or relevant international laws. Those profiting from insecurity are dictating adverse decisions because, if justice were served, the well-funded attacks on his character and mission would lose their grip on the public.
“Onyendu MNK urges the public to review all court rulings and judgments concerning him and IPOB to see that the law is not being followed. He maintains that his trial is a sham, orchestrated to undermine truth and justice.”
It is worth noting that Justice Binta Nyako of the Abuja High Court recused herself from the case mid-last year, but the matter was later reassigned to her despite protests from Kanu and his legal team.
