NAF Announces Air Commodore Akinboyewa As New Public Relations OfficerThe Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar, has appointed Air Commodore Olusola Akinboyewa as the new Director of Public Relations and Information (DOPRI) and spokesperson for the Nigerian Air Force (NAF). Akinboyewa takes over from Air Vice Marshal Edward Gabkwet, who has been reassigned to the Civil-Military Relations Branch of the NAF, where he will serve as Director of Coordination and Cooperation.

The statement noted that, “This strategic move is part of the NAF’s ongoing efforts to improve public and community engagement, while ensuring a stronger connection with the public and stakeholders.”

As the new NAF spokesperson, Akinboyewa will handle media relations, strategic communications, and public information dissemination. His role will include maintaining transparency and fostering public trust. Akinboyewa, from the 43rd Regular Combatant Course of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), holds a BSc in Mathematics and a Master’s in Security and Strategic Studies from NDA. Before this appointment, he was the Commandant of NAF’s Air Traffic Services Training Centre in Kaduna.
