They deem the dissolution of state, local government, and ward executives in ten states as a violation of the party’s constitution.
Speaking on behalf of the forum in Ado Ekiti, Mr Dada Olayinka Olabode, the spokesperson and Ekiti State NNPP chairman, emphasized that the dissolved structures had been duly elected through congresses, making the actions of the NWC unconstitutional.
He added that the forum’s members who opposed Kwakwaso’s influence were summoned before a disciplinary panel by the NWC.
Olabode highlighted the forum’s legal action, indicating that the improperly constituted NWC has been summoned to appear in court on September 19, 2023, in a case presided over by Justice Aladejana of High Court 3 of Ekiti State High Court.
The NNPP state chairmen’s spokesperson underlined the alleged violations of the party’s constitution, specifically referencing articles related to the party’s organizational structure and the improper alteration of the constitution by the NWC.
Regarding Kwakwaso’s alleged anti-party activities, Olabode linked his association with the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to a decline in the NNPP’s performance across the board during the presidential election.
