Ogbonnia clarified that there is currently no leadership struggle within Ohanaeze Ndigbo and assured that the situation is unlikely to change soon. He highlighted that the group’s National Executive Committee, composed of experienced scholars and professionals, is effectively managing the organization’s responsibilities under the guidance of the Secretary-General, Ambassador Okey Emuchay.

Iwuanyanwu passed away on July 25, and Ogbonnia criticized attempts to claim the presidency prematurely, especially before a burial committee for Iwuanyanwu has been formed.
