Speaking during a ceremony at the PDP National Secretariat in Abuja where he received the PDP policy document for the state, Melaye emphatically stated, “There’s no sane person in Kogi State that will vote for the APC.

He expressed his confidence in the conviction that the people of Kogi State have endured immense suffering due to the “maladministration” of the APC-led government.

Melaye painted a bleak picture of the state’s conditions, highlighting issues such as civil servants taking Okada (motorcycles) to work, inadequate salaries for government employees, missing persons, and incidents of violence and killings.

He also emphasized the need for economic revival, improved healthcare, infrastructure development, and water supply in the state.

Regarding his readiness for governance, Melaye emphasized that the PDP is the only party working on a comprehensive policy document for Kogi State.

He described the policy document as a robust and solution-oriented approach to addressing the state’s economic challenges and setting it on a path of growth.

Melaye pledged to reform the civil service, ensuring timely and full payment of salaries on the 25th of every month. He criticized the lack of a middle class in Kogi State, where the gap between the rich and poor has widened, and promised to address the disparity.

He also criticized the alleged misappropriation of federal government palliatives, intended to alleviate the suffering of Kogi residents, and vowed to ensure transparency and equitable distribution of such resources.
