The State House Banquet Hall came alive last night as First Lady, Her Excellency Senator Oluremi Tinubu, hosted members of the National Assembly to an evening designed to strengthen dialogue, trust and collaboration at the highest levels of government.
The dinner drew an impressive lineup of national leaders — from Vice President Kashim Shettima to Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker Tajudeen Abbas, SGF Senator George Akume and the Chief of Staff to the President, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila — alongside principal officers of the Senate and House of Representatives, as well as senior government policymakers.
Yet, in the midst of this constellation of national figures, Senator Adams Oshiomhole quietly drew attention. Dressed in a pristine all-white native and crowned with the blue Tinubu Infinity cap, he carried an unmistakable poise that resonated through the hall. His presence reflected experience, stability and the seasoned political instinct that has long positioned him as a bridge between institutions.
Beyond the camaraderie, the night held a deeper message. In her address, the First Lady urged a renewed commitment to gender equity, reinforcing her appeal for the swift passage of the Gender Parity Bill, also known as the Reserved Seats for Women Bill currently awaiting legislative action.
Conversations flowed, camaraderie deepened, and the First Lady’s engagement underscored the renewed harmony between the executive and the legislature.
A distinguished evening — and a reminder that leadership can shine even in a room full of leaders.
