Speaking at his formal induction into the APC by the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, in Ikire, Babalola vowed to ensure an APC victory in the upcoming local government elections in the state. He stated, “I have directed my supporters across all 30 local government areas and 332 wards in Osun State to register as members of the APC.”
Babalola, a former Chief of Staff in Osun, also warned Governor Ademola Adeleke’s administration against manipulating the electoral process in favor of the PDP during the local elections. He hinted that APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, would soon visit Osogbo to formally welcome him into the party.
In a speech delivered on behalf of the Minister, APC State Secretary Alao Kamorudeen expressed confidence in the party’s ability to win the forthcoming local government and national elections. He encouraged members to rally behind the leadership, register at their respective wards, and mobilize support for APC candidates.
Leaders and members from the 30 local government areas in the Osun West Senatorial District were present to welcome Babalola into the APC. His defection follows his suspension from the PDP’s ward executives in Irewole Local Government in August. Prior to his suspension, Babalola had submitted his resignation from the PDP.
