Describing the elder statesman’s death as a great loss to Nigeria and all who uphold justice, truth, and equity, Obi said the news came as a shock.
Reflecting on their last conversation, Obi recalled that Pa Adebanjo had urged him to remain steadfast in the pursuit of justice, a commitment he vowed to honor.
On behalf of the Obidient Movement, Obi expressed gratitude for Pa Adebanjo’s unwavering support during the 2023 presidential election, praying that his legacy and sacrifices would not be in vain.
In a condolence message titled “Pa Ayo Adebanjo: A Life of Service, Justice, and Truth,” Obi extended sympathies to the late leader’s family and the Afenifere organization. He emphasized that Pa Adebanjo’s passing should serve as a renewed call for dedication to service and justice.
“My family and the Obidient Movement received with shock the news of our dear father and leader, Pa Ayo Adebanjo’s passing. He was a towering figure in the struggle for a new Nigeria. We send our heartfelt condolences to his family and the Afenifere organization.
