This assurance came during the Africa International Trade Exhibition (AITE) 2023’s Business, Trade, and Investment Summit, held on the sidelines of the 78th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
The Chairman of the Organising Committee for the Business, Trade, and Investment Summit, Mr. Tunde MacAlabi, disclosed this in a statement issued on Monday.
The summit was collaboratively organized by Mr. MacAlabi, Prof. Tai Balofin, President of the Nigerian Progressive Professionals, and Ms. Khuraira Musa, Chief Executive Officer of K-Pro Consulting in New York.
While represented by the Minister of Trade and Investment, Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite, President Tinubu assured investors that the Federal Government would take necessary measures to enhance trade ease within the country.
Earlier, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, encouraged both domestic and foreign investors to capitalize on Nigeria’s vast population, air traffic, and thriving aviation market.
He highlighted the potential for significant investments in world-class Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facilities, emphasizing the limited availability of such facilities in West Africa. Keyamo pointed out that domestic airline operators often have to transport their aircraft overseas and wait for two months or more for maintenance due to the lack of adequate MRO facilities in the region.
Additionally, Ms. Musa, the author of “The Audacity of an African Girl” and President of the Arewa Development Support Initiative (ADSI), underscored the event’s purpose of attracting investors to invest in Nigeria. She expressed the desire to establish industries within Nigeria for processing and manufacturing raw materials, aiming to generate job opportunities for the country’s youth and women.
