His father, Fuad, shared his relief with our correspondent in a phone call on Monday, revealing that the child was found on a nearby street after being dropped off by an unidentified driver.

Abdul-Muqsit had disappeared from his family’s residence on Ajagun Lane in Lagos Island shortly after his parents returned from the prayer ground.

Fuad explained that he had left his son with relatives in their large compound while he participated in the ritual slaughtering of a ram.

“I don’t reside in Lagos; I was only here for the Sallah holiday at my parents’ place. When we returned from the prayer ground, I was busy with the ram slaughtering. He was last seen with my mother and nephew in the compound,” Fuad recounted.

“My mother, who is elderly and frail, didn’t realize when he wandered off. He’s unfamiliar with the area unlike his older brother, who has friends here,” Fuad added.

Authorities at the Adeniji Adele Police Division confirmed that the case had been reported and was under investigation, though they could not provide further details.

Fuad expressed gratitude to PUNCH Metro for their prompt coverage, revealing that Abdul-Muqsit had been taken to the hospital for a check-up after being dropped off near their residence by an unknown driver in a black Jeep.

“We had distributed his photos throughout the neighborhood, which helped identify him quickly,” Fuad said.
