Security Forces Capture Three Militants In Borno, Free Abducted Teenager

In a decisive operation, troops of the 6 Brigade Nigerian Army and Sector 3 Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) successfully apprehended two notorious terrorists after a fierce shootout at Geshi Village along Rafin Kada road in Damisa Ward of Donga Local Government Area, Taraba State.

Lieutenant Oni Olubodunde, Acting Assistant Director of the 6 Brigade Army Public Relations, disclosed in a statement on Sunday, July 14, 2024, that the troops also rescued a 9-year-old pupil, Miss Dorothy Kwatsumen, who was found wandering in her school uniform in Yorro LGA of the state.

According to him, the operation, which took place on July 11, 2024, also led to the recovery of two motorcycles used by the criminals.

“The operation, conducted by the troops deployed in Akate in Donga Local Government Area, occurred following intelligence reports that revealed an attack in Geshi Village by armed terrorists,” the statement read.

Acting on this information, troops swiftly mobilized to the area and engaged the armed men in a fierce exchange of gunfire, ultimately overpowering the terrorists with superior firepower and forcing them to flee into the bush with gunshot wounds.

“Troops continued to pursue the miscreants and arrested two terrorists with their motorcycles. The captured terrorists are currently in custody for interrogation.”

Following the successful operation, the Commander of the 6 Brigade Nigerian Army and Sector 3 OPWS commended the troops for their bravery, swift response, and dedication to duty.
