Otabor, who graduated less than a week earlier, had one leg amputated following the crash, and doctors fear the second may also be lost.
Eyewitnesses alleged that the truck driver failed to stop after the incident but was pursued and apprehended by a lecturer who witnessed the collision. The truck’s license plate was reportedly removed before it was impounded by the police.
According to the company, senior executives and its insurance team have visited the crash site, engaged with law enforcement, and met the victim and her family at the Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital.
Dangote Cement confirmed that Otabor will receive full medical treatment and compensation in line with its welfare policy, expressing deep concern for her condition and wishing her a swift recovery.
