Something Is Not Right’ – Peter Obi Reacts To Sh*cking Kaduna Kidnap Confirmation
Former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has challenged those who initially dismissed reports of the abduction of more than 100 worshippers in Kaduna State.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
In a statement shared on his (formerly Twitter) account on Wednesday, Obi questioned the source of the information relied upon by individuals who denied the incident when it was first reported.
He called for firm action against those involved in the denial, especially now that authorities have confirmed the abduction, and urged that accountability be enforced.
Beyond seeking sanctions, the former Anambra State governor also appealed for swift and coordinated efforts to secure the victims’ release and ensure their safe return, stressing that the government must demonstrate that the lives of Nigerians truly matter.
He wrote:
“Now that it has been confirmed that over 150 worshippers were kidnapped from churches in Kaduna, where did those who initially denied the incident get their information from, and how was it verified?
“And since those who denied the reports threatened to punish people accused of spreading false information, who will now be held accountable?
“In any serious country, this situation would prompt decisive national action, clear communication, and visible leadership. Leadership is not just about acquiring power; it is about presence—speaking when citizens are in pain, acting when lives are in danger, and clearly showing that every Nigerian life counts.
“We must act urgently to ensure the safe and unharmed release of all victims and to confront, head-on, the persistent insecurity plaguing our nation. Enough is enough.
“A New Nigeria is POssible.”
Following the earlier denials, the Nigeria Police Force has since confirmed that an abduction did occur in Kurmin Wali, a remote community in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, after what it described as extensive verification and intelligence assessment.
The confirmation has reignited controversy, given earlier statements by some government officials who had dismissed reports that any kidnapping took place in the area.
