In an emotional video shared on Instagram, Jinad recounted how Adedimeji allegedly turned down her offer to feature in her film, claiming he preferred to act in movies involving “fortunate people.”

She said the comment deeply hurt her at the time, but she eventually decided to move on with her career. According to Jinad, the actor blocked her for years and only unblocked her in January 2025, though she never understood what triggered the issue.

Explaining her reason for speaking out, the actress clarified that she wasn’t seeking to stir controversy but rather to highlight how fame often changes people in the Nigerian film industry.

She said:

“There was a time I wanted to produce a movie and I approached Lateef Adedimeji for a role. He told me directly that he only wanted to feature in movies made by ‘fortunate people.’ I was shocked and hurt by that statement, but I moved on.
He blocked me for about four years and only unblocked me in January 2025. I still don’t know why, but I’m speaking out now, not to attack anyone, but to express how some of our colleagues change once fame comes their way.”

As of the time of this report, Lateef Adedimeji, known for his standout performances in Ayinla, Lisabi, and Jagun Jagun, has not publicly responded to the allegations.
