In a swearing-in ceremony held at the new Executive Council Chamber in Owerri, the state capital, Governor Uzodimma also inaugurated 24 Commissioners, 19 Special Advisers, and other top political appointees, forming the newly expanded Executive Council.
According to the statement, the oath-taking rituals began with senior political appointees, including the Secretary to the State Government, Chief of Staff, and Deputy Chiefs of Staff. Governor Uzodimma hinted at further appointments to fill vacant positions in critical ministries.
Emphasizing the need for success in their administrative duties, Governor Uzodimma urged the appointees to utilize their positions and interpersonal skills effectively. He stressed the importance of conducting themselves responsibly and with decorum, underscoring the seriousness of the oath of office they took.
To ensure accountability and performance evaluation, a Monitoring and Evaluation Unit has been established in the Governor’s Office. The Governor urged the appointees to work diligently, emphasizing the importance of staying focused.
The swearing-in ceremony saw the presence of prominent personalities, including the Governor’s wife, Speaker of the State House of Assembly, former Governor of Imo State, and Head of Service.
This move by Governor Uzodimma signifies a strategic approach towards governance and accountability in Imo State.
