“I am pleased to reaffirm the Federal Government’s commitment to addressing the transportation challenges faced by our citizens and transport operators,” Ekpo said. “This initiative, led by the Presidential CNG Initiative in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Transportation, aims to promote CNG as a cleaner and more affordable fuel alternative.”

He further explained that the buses are not just vehicles, but a substantial investment in eco-friendly transportation. They reflect the government’s commitment to alleviating the burden on Nigerian commuters and transport operators.

“The transportation sector plays a vital role in Nigeria’s economy,” Ekpo added, acknowledging the strain rising fuel costs have placed on mobility. “To address this, the Federal Government has prioritized CNG, a cleaner and more cost-effective fuel. This is central to our Decade of Gas initiative, which taps into Nigeria’s vast natural gas reserves to support sustainable development, energy security, and economic growth.”
