Senator Darlington Nwokocha, who represents Abia Central Senatorial District and serves as the Senate Minority Whip, made this announcement.

Furthermore, he has been advocating at the global level for oil companies and multinational corporations to prioritize and adhere to best practices, particularly in the context of mitigating the adverse effects of climate change, including the consequences of gas flaring in Nigeria.

Addressing the conclusion of the 2023 Global Parliamentarian Forum, a part of the Annual Meetings of the World Bank and International Monetary Fund (IMF) held in Marrakech, Morocco, Nwokocha stressed the importance of exploring different options and taking actions that are in the best interest of the country.

He pointed out that the consequences of climate change have had devastating effects on the African continent, emphasizing that there are no limitations to these effects.
