He emphasized that these delinquent payers must promptly settle their outstanding dues, emphasizing that once the grace period expires, he will take concrete action by revoking the affected plots.

Wike reiterated this message during separate meetings on Tuesday in Abuja with the President of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Chris Isiguzo, and the Canadian High Commissioner to Nigeria, James Chrisoff.

The minister cautioned against dismissing his statements as mere bravado or ‘initial gra-gra’ in local parlance, underscoring that there will be consequences once the payment ultimatum ends.

During his conversation with the NUJ leadership, the minister declared that the era of abandoned projects in the FCT has come to an end.

He credited this achievement to the President’s decision to exit from the Treasury Single Account (TSA), which allowed significant savings in internally generated revenue (IGR). He assured that FCTA projects would receive continuous funding.
