The Honourable Minister of Regional Development, Abubakar Momoh, has commenced an inspection of key road projects across Edo State, underscoring the Federal Government’s commitment to effective project delivery, oversight, and people-centred development.

The inspection tour, which cuts across multiple local government areas, is focused on strategic road corridors linking communities and supporting economic and social activities. According to officials, the visit is aimed at assessing progress, ensuring quality execution, and strengthening accountability in infrastructure delivery.

The inspection began at South Ibie Road, a major route connecting farming settlements, traders, and daily commuters. For years, residents experienced significant movement challenges along the corridor. Ongoing works are now restoring access and improving ease of travel for users of the road.

The tour proceeded to Jattu Road, a key transportation link that facilitates commerce and mobility across neighbouring towns. The road plays a critical role in supporting local trade, reducing travel time, and improving connectivity between communities.

At Imiekuri Road, residents gathered in large numbers, expressing appreciation as the Minister assessed progress on the project. Community members described the road as a critical intervention that enhances safety, saves travel time, and reconnects them to essential services and opportunities.

The inspection highlights a broader emphasis on sustained project monitoring, with regular follow-ups ensuring that infrastructure projects are not only approved but effectively executed.
