In the petition, Okolugbo stated that his verified (formerly Twitter) account was hacked and used to disseminate false information. According to Okolugbo, the post — fabricated without his knowledge or consent — was shared in a manner suggesting a deliberate and synchronized disinformation effort, as the influencers allegedly used similar wording and posted at nearly the same time.

“These accusations are outright fabrications, strategically crafted to mislead the public,” Okolugbo emphasized in his complaint.

He also linked the smear campaign to supporters of Senator Natasha Akpoti Uduaghan, arguing that the false claims weren’t even present in the original hacked post — a detail he believes highlights intentional distortion and malice.

Calling on the Nigeria Police Force for urgent intervention, Okolugbo outlined specific requests: a full investigation into the hacking and impersonation of his account, prosecution of those responsible for the alleged defamation, and preservation of digital evidence for forensic review.

He anchored his petition on provisions of the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act, 2015, insisting that the matter held both personal and public interest.

To support his claims, he included his 2025 travel history, showing he had not left Nigeria at the time the alleged London meetings reportedly took place.
