In a statement shared via Instagram, AY dismissed widespread rumours suggesting that he was seeking reconciliation with Mabel. He cautioned that he would not hesitate to pursue legal action against individuals and platforms spreading such falsehoods.
“My attention has been drawn to a series of false, incessant, and insensitive social media posts alleging that I am full of regret and attempting to reconcile with my estranged wife,” he wrote. “These stories are intentionally manipulative, aimed at misleading the public, and designed purely for traffic and engagement.
“For the record, I have never made or authorized any such statements. If I wish to address personal matters, I have the platform, the reach, and the credibility to do so directly—not through faceless blogs or rumour-driven channels.
“This is a final warning. All such false reports should be disregarded. Going forward, legal measures will be taken against any person, blog, or platform that continues to circulate these defamatory claims. Enough is enough.”
The comedian’s marriage to Mabel had shown cracks as early as 2024, with Mabel alleging prolonged mental abuse before publicly confirming their separation. She emphasized that the decision was made for her safety and peace of mind.
AY, on his part, admitted that his 20-year relationship was “slipping through his hands,” but refrained from disclosing details. By April 2024, the pair officially announced their split, requesting privacy as they co-parent their children while moving forward separately.
