Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has enacted six executive bills into law, aiming to enhance effective governance in the state. The State House of Assembly passed the bills, which include:
Renaming the state-owned university to Sa’adu Zungur University, Gadau.
Repealing the Bauchi State Primary Healthcare Development Agency 2012 and establishing the Bauchi State Primary Healthcare Board.
Establishing the Bauchi State Farmers/Herders Board.
Establishing the Bauchi State Rural Access Road Authority (RARA) 2024.
Promoting children’s access to education in Bauchi State.
Governor Mohammed commended the State House of Assembly for their diligent review and approval of the bills, emphasizing the strong and collaborative relationship between the legislative and executive branches. He stressed the importance of this cooperation for the socio-economic development of the state and assured ongoing support for the Assembly’s efforts to improve the welfare of Bauchi’s citizens.
Highlighting the significance of the new laws, Governor Mohammed stated that their effective implementation would foster peace, stability, better education, and rural development throughout the state. He expressed his gratitude to the legislators for their consistent support and pledged to continue working with them to achieve sustainable progress and good governance.
The Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Abubakar Suleiman, also emphasized the positive impact these laws would have on citizens’ lives.
