The statement revealed that the Lagos State Civil Service Commission had given approval to all the recommendations made by the Personnel Management Board concerning the seven LASTMA officers implicated in corrupt activities. This decision was reached during a meeting held on Tuesday, August 19, 2023.

Adebayo Taofiq explained, “Five LASTMA officials indicted for corruption have received letters of termination of appointment, while the remaining two have received letters of reprimand for absence from duty posts without leave.” The disciplinary actions taken align with the rules and regulations of the Lagos State Civil Service.

The acting General Manager of LASTMA, Bakare Oki, emphasized that these measures were necessary to maintain discipline and uphold the standards set by the civil service. He urged the public to share their experiences, whether positive or negative, and provide relevant evidence related to alleged misconduct. This feedback is crucial for the agency to address issues promptly and impartially.

In addition, Oki appealed to drivers in Lagos to adhere to traffic laws, emphasizing that compliance would prevent legal violations and the associated penalties outlined in legislation. He assured the public that complaints would be thoroughly and swiftly investigated, underscoring the agency’s commitment to transparency and accountability in its operations.
