Calls have been made by members of the Obidient Movement for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to field Obi as their presidential candidate, with many insisting on an “Obi or nothing” stance.
Meanwhile, supporters of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar have once again urged Obi and his followers to consider a vice-presidential position, similar to the arrangement in 2019.
However, in a video shared by Daily Trust, Obi affirmed that he intends to contest the 2027 presidential election as the leading candidate.
The former Anambra governor made the statement while campaigning for the ADC’s candidate ahead of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Area Council elections in Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC).
He urged voters to support his preferred candidate, stressing that their backing is vital for his political journey.
“In this coming election, support us in AMAC; it will help me. Your support there is critical to our journey. I am contesting the upcoming election as number one. When I return, you will see. I assure you,” Obi said.
