The communiqué was jointly signed by the President of the Bishops, Most Rev. Gabriel Abegunrin, and the Secretary, Most Rev. John Oyejola.
The Bishops acknowledged that Nigeria already faces a plethora of challenges and advocated for a focus on these issues rather than participating in any military intervention.
They emphasized the sentiment of the Nigerian public, which appears to prefer negotiation and non-military approaches in resolving conflicts, particularly the involvement of ECOWAS in the restoration of democracy in Niger.
