The championship match between Nigeria and hosts Cote d’Ivoire is slated to be held at the Alassanne Ouattara Stadium in Ebimpe, Abidjan, on Sunday.
Speaking to reporters during a press briefing at the Palace de la Culture in Trechville, Abidjan, on Friday, Motsepe touched upon the prospect of Africa hosting the World Cup once again.
Responding to queries about Africa’s potential bid for the World Cup, the South African business magnate remarked, “Nigeria must put forward a bid. President Bola Tinubu of Nigeria will be in attendance at the final on Sunday. I will have discussions with him regarding this matter.”
Nigeria’s Vice President Kashim Shettima was present during the Super Eagles’ semi-final victory over South Africa, where they emerged triumphant with a 4-2 win on penalties.
The eagerly awaited final is scheduled to kick off at 9 p.m. Nigerian time.
