The Nigerian naira maintained its position against the United States dollar at the official foreign exchange market, with the local currency recording no change from the previous trading rate.

According to available foreign exchange data, the naira was quoted at ₦1,321.2160 to the dollar at the official market on Sunday, September 7, 2026.

The rate remained unchanged from the ₦1,321.2160/$1 recorded in the previous session, indicating stability in the official market.

At the parallel market, commonly known as the black market, the naira closed at about ₦1,400 to the dollar.

However, exchange rates offered by commercial banks, Bureau de Change operators and other foreign exchange dealers may vary from the official and parallel-market reference figures due to transaction charges, profit margins and changes in dollar demand and supply.

Market participants are expected to continue watching foreign exchange inflows, demand for the United States dollar and policy decisions by the Central Bank of Nigeria for indications of how the naira may perform in the coming weeks.

The movement of the local currency will remain a key focus as traders and businesses assess whether recent stability in the foreign exchange market can be sustained.
